New Call of Duty confirmed for 2013

Activision reveals the following entry in the long series of first-person shooter to launch this year, hopes that the game will not be as effective as Black Ops II.

Activision today confirmed that a new Call of Duty will be launched in 2013. The news was revealed in a post-financial earnings call, where Activision Publishing CEO Eric Hirshberg also revealed the new entry in the franchise is scheduled to perform and record the Call of Duty: Black Ops II.

"The Call of Duty series continues to set the standard for innovation and we hope that the new Call of Duty in Development for 2013 to raise the bar even higher," said Hirshberg.

    "It is more volatile this year due to the transition from the current console, it is more difficult to predict the future compared to normal years in the cycle.
